Harrison Happy Hour: Front Row Theatre Company

What:

Front Row Theatre Company, Harrison's own in house theatre residential program, is Penn's one and only student-run social impact theatre group at the University of Pennsylvania. FTC produces theatre that calls attention to cultural, political, and societal issues important to its membership and its greater communities. As such, FTC is dedicated to connecting its membership to community involvement and service opportunities in conjunction with each production. Our Winter show Manahatta will be right here in the Rooftop Lounge February 20th-22nd @8PM.

In Manahatta  securities trader Jane Snake is torn between worlds. Her return to Wall Street in 2008 brings her to Manahatta (“island of many hills” in Lenape), the homeland of her ancestors who were violently forced to leave in the 1600s. Meanwhile, her family in Oklahoma struggles to save their over-mortgaged home. In Mary Kathryn Nagle’s spellbinding world-premiere drama, past and present intertwine to illuminate the tragic consequences of the commercial exploits that gave rise to the America we know today – and that marginalized and erased Native American people and history.
