David KiruiGraduate Associate
David is a 4th year Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Sociology (School of Arts and Sciences) and a student in the A.M. in Statistics dual degree program at Wharton. He also has a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley and a M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the causes and consequences of racial/ethnic and socio-economic inequality in American higher education. Originally from Los Angeles, David moved to Philadelphia after college to do Teach For America and hasn’t left since. When he is not reading, writing, or otherwise working, David enjoys biking, traveling, and binge watching his favorite shows. One fun fact about David is that he has briefly appeared on multiple reality TV shows.
